Adult and Paediatric Neuro Rehab Physiotherapist
Roxanne studied at the University of Pretoria where she received a BSc. Physiotherapy in 2013. She did her community service year in 2014 in the Nelson Mandela Bay District at Zwide Clinic in Port Elizabeth. Here she worked very closely in a multidisciplinary team of: physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapist and audiologist. She treated patients with varying conditions but mainly orthopaedics and adult and paediatric neurology. She was also involved in many community projects and was part of the team to organise the Nelson Mandela Bay Districts Disability Awareness Day event in Novemeber 2014. Roxanne has a special interest in neurology and specifically in paediatric neurology.
After graduating, Roxanne completed courses such as Introduction to Cerebral Palsy course presented by SANDTA and ‘The Fussy Baby’ course. Roxanne Attended the MAES Therapy Course in 2015 and can give MAES therapy to her babies and children she treats.
Roxanne began working at Rehabilita, Anne Knowles Physiotherapy, Mayo Clinic in Roodepoort in January 2015 where she is currently treating neurological adult and paediatric patients as well as working within the neonatal ICU. Roxanne had an interest in assessing and following up on Premature babies and tracking their progress as they grow and develop to ensure they achieve their milestones.
Her passion for neurology with special regards to paediatrics is due to the fact that she believes that there is hope in any circumstance. She lives by Jer 29 v11 which says: “For I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future“
